Hugh joined SERV Surrey and London in 2009 and used his Health and Safety professional skills to assist the Group in establishing a more selective and standardised training regime. In 2016 Hugh was elected Chairman of the Group and served in that position for three years.

The Group went from strength to strength in his tenure, with increased income and donations of vehicles enabling the safe and reliable transport of blood and blood products. Donated Breast Milk collection was added to the Group repertoire with during the day collections made from all over Surrey and London.

The onset of Covid 19 saw a dramatic increase in activity for the Group and Hugh (whilst no longer Chairman) was heavily involved in the daytime and night time transport of samples from all over England to one of the few Covid testing stations in the country. In response to that and for their previous work the Group was awarded the Queens Award for Voluntary Service with a commendation for the Covid work.

Seeing a gap in the service provided during the day and at weekends Hugh, with the other Trustees has set up FREDS.

Graham joined the Army in 1973, and during his service he gained two degrees and was commissioned before leaving in 2004.

After his Army career, Graham ran the MOD's public address team, and held other management roles, as well as becoming a Magistrate.

Graham joined SERV Surrey and London many years ago and was elected Chairman, having been a committee member for several terms – he joined after seeing a display at a bike show in Alexandra Palace!

Always a keen motorcyclist, Graham is a director of Bike Tours for The Wounded, which takes wounded, injured, or sick service people on tours of Europe and the USA five times a year.  

He is now happily retired and doing 'odd jobs' for friends and neighbours whilst being part of the founder team at FREDS.

With us since our foundation, Ian is one of our team members and has played a critical role in shaping our mission and projects.

Ian has also served as Chairman at SERV Surrey and South London, and has a very responsible job in Central London. He brings many years of volunteering experience and superb organisational skills in helping FREDS grow and make a measurable impact.

Peter is an accomplished and highly experienced international business leader, with a career spanning over 33 years in IT&T, holding senior roles. He has been a Director of several high growth scale up companies and most recently at Megaport Plc, (ASX MP1).

An avid motorcyclist, Peter is a qualified Institute of Advanced Motorcylist riding coach (National Observer), and IAM Master, when not fishing in the South West of France, where he has a home.
